Yes, I know, I kind of promised to start blogging a bit more regularly again. But oh well, at least I try! But there's been one promise that I've kept so far this year. Or it's not really a promise, it's more of a goal. It's my goal of reading 35 books this year. I've already read 7 books so I think I'm doing a pretty decent job. So yes, this post is going to be about books because I thought I would show you my To Be Read Shelf:
The books to the right are books that I've order from Amazon and that I'm planning to read in a pretty near future (but you never know though). The pile to the left consists of books that I've found at the thrift store and some other books that I'm planning to read in a more distant future.
Let's start the tour of the shelf from the left;
Strax efter solnedgången (Just After Sunset) by Stephen King: This a collection of short stories by Stephen King. To be honest, I'm not sure why I have this book but I guess I'll read it sometime in the future.
Djurens gård (Animal Farm) by George Orwell: You can't pass up a classic like this at the thrift store! And I've kind of promised myself to read more classics. We'll see about that...
The Giver by Lois Lowry: It's really hard to find novels in english in Swedish thrift stores, so I was really excited to find a book I actually wanted to read!
Oryx & Crake by Margaret Atwood: This is another thrift store find, I'm just a bit disappointed about the fact that it's in Swedish.
The Twist and The BFG by Roald Dahl: Probably my most exciting book finds from the thrift store!
Oönskad (The Declaration) by Gemma Malley: I've heard mixed reviews about this young adult dystopian novel. But I guess it's worth a go!
Anne Frank's Dagbok (The Diary of a Young Girl) by Anne Frank: I haven't read this yet. That's pretty much a scandal.
Boktjuven (The Book Thief) by Markus Zusak: I know, I should have read this already.
Drakens ögon (The Eyes of the Dragon) by Stephen King: I've heard some good thing about this fantasy novel by Stephen King.
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield: I've read some good reviews about this book too so I'll hopefully get some time to read it pretty soon.
That's it for the left side. So let's move on to the right side of the shelf. So, these are the books I'm planning to read pretty soon;
The Mist by Stephen King: You know I'm really into apocalyptic stories. I liked the movie so I'm excited to see what I think about the book (I know, most people didn't enjoy the movie at all, but that's me. I always enjoy a good story about the world ending and falling into pieces...).
Delirium by Lauren Oliver: Yes, I've heard some good things about this book. I guess it's right about time that I see what the hype is about.
Rot and Ruin by Jonathan Maberry: It's about zombies. Enough said!
Timeriders by Alex Scarrow: I'm not sure why I got this book but I guess it sounded interesting. I don't feel sure about this though...We'll see...
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi: An young adult dystopian with good reviews. I can't say no to that.
Ashfall by Mike Mullin: I've actually already read this book and you know what? I loved it! It's a really awesome apocalyptic story!
The Chaos Walking Trilogy (oh well, at least the first two books) by Patrick Ness: These have been on my to read list for a pretty long time now.
What books are you planning to read in the near future?
And by the way, I'm currently trying my best to document my week in pictures. So I'll hopefully have one of those posts up this weekend!
